About SHPE
The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) was established in 1974 by a group of pioneering Hispanic engineers in Los Angeles. Their vision was to create a national organization that would serve as a beacon of inspiration and support for the Hispanic community, especially in the STEM fields. SHPE's foundation is built on the power of networking, which has enabled the organization to grow into the largest association for Hispanics in STEM across the United States and beyond
Our Chapter
At Purdue University, our SHPE chapter stands as a testament to the dedication and resilience of Hispanic students in the STEM disciplines. We take pride in being recognized as the leading organization for Hispanics within the Purdue community. Our chapter is committed to nurturing well-rounded professionals through a combination of academic support, professional development, and community engagement. We host a variety of events, including workshops, networking nights, and social gatherings, all designed to prepare our members for success in their future careers
